Boverket released the residential construction prognosis in June stating a dramatic decrease in housing construction with expected starts to be 27,000 in 2023, and in 2024 only 21,700 with figures even ending up lower due to high market uncertainty.
Increased inflation, construction costs and decompressed yields have moved up the prime annual rent on new production multifamily apartments in Sweden and in Stockholm to SEK 3,000 per sqm a year and the level remain stable from 02. Rental negotiations on the older stock have had record high increases, according to Statistics Sweden, at an average of 4.1% in 2023. The highest increase since 1994.
